The 2014 Indian Premier League starts today, with many of the world’s best cricketers signing up for the tournament.
After his exclusion from the England side, Kevin Pietersen will captain the Delhi DareDevils, whose first match is tomorrow against the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Mumbai Indians will be looking to defend their title and they kick start the tournament off against the Kolkata Knight Riders in todays match.
MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings are the favourites and will be desperate to win after losing last seasons final to Mumbai.
The 2010 and 11 winners have value at 2/1 to make the final and given the quality of their squad, you would fancy them to do so.
Virat Kohli has had an amazing last 18 months and was the top scorer at the recent T20 World Cup and given his form it’s hard to look past him topping the run scorers charts.
Bet 365 have Kohli at 6/1 to do so and if he can continue his form from last month then the Royal Challengers Bangalore captain will almost certainly be there or there abouts.
Chris Gayle is among the favourites to pip Kohli to the title, however the West Indian opener was out shone by his team mates at the World Cup and I suggest looking elsewhere.
Michael Hussey, a.k.a Mr Cricket, can be found as long as 18’s and an each way bet on the Australian could be good.
